Hey beautiful brides to be! My name is Cierra or otherwise known as the newly wed Mrs. Benckendorf if you want to get formal ;). I am here to guide you through this fun, crazy, exciting, and stressful journey of wedding planning! I’ll take you through the experience step by step in a series of blog posts dedicated all to helping you achieve a wedding and marriage that you are proud of. To start off this series, I figure you might want a little backstory on the chick that will be giving you all of this amazing wedding planning advice!
Today marks 75 days that we’ve been married but, as a couple we’ve been dating for 4 years. Ty asked me to be his girlfriend on July 4th, 2015 and it’s been fireworks ever since. Pun very much intended! Within our 4 years, we’ve moved from our parents homes, to a little apartment together, and now to our own home that we hope to raise a family in one day. As for now, we are happy enjoying newlywed life with our 3 crazy dogs. On June 10th, 2017, Ty bent the knee (any Game of Thrones fans? ;)) and asked me to marry him. That moment was indescribable and will forever be one of my favorite memories. We cried happy tears and celebrated with our friends all night long. If you add up the math, that means I have almost TWO full years of wedding planning experience under my belt that I am so excited to share with you all. The good, the bad, and the in between. The one thing I can say is that YES at points you will wonder if the stress of a wedding is worth it and secretly look up flights to an exotic location to elope but TRUST ME in the end it’s all worth it. Watching your new husband dance with his grandmother in her wheelchair and the huge smile on both of their faces, laughing hysterically at your shy uncle tearing up the dance floor once “Billie Jean” starts playing, and the small tears rolling down your husbands face as you get to the end of the aisle to start your new journey together. These moments plus a million other “little” moments throughout the night made everything so incredibly worth it.
